Restoring Recent Documents to your dock

I have unintentionally dragged my Recent Documents folder from the dock and it disappeared, of course with a shiny puff, and i wanted to restore it.
A quick search got me on the trails on a little scattered how to that i would like to collect.
to restore the Recent Documents folder you need to:

  1. open terminal
  2. Paste this in the terminal: defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{ "tile-data" = { "list-type" = 1; }; "tile-type" = "recents-tile"; }'
  3. then restart your Dock with this command: killall Dock
  4. No you will have two recent applications icons on your Dock (assuming you had one in the first place). Control Click(Right Click) on one of them and change it to Recent Documents.

thats it!
You have restored the recent documents back to its original state.
