SharePoint WebParts programming

Reading Daniel McPherson’s post on the highly ineffective habits of bad programming may remind all of you guys a moment or two in life.
You probably remember the day you had to prove that it was all the fault of one blemished component.
The MSDN best practice is looking up as a real good definition guide for SharePoint WSS programming.
Some of the knowledge here is transferable to any programming scenario, not necessary a SharePoint one, and as specified to the new SharePoint Windows services V3.
Calling the Dispose() explicitly on a pooled object that is no longer used is a must practice in Enterprise services (unless it is in a JITA – Just-in-Time Activation enabled scanario).
